Links List Module Documentation

Introduction

Group Package 1 websites contain a mix of default verbiage and imagery, with your group's details. This is managed for you by Scouts Online. There is no ability change the settings.

If you'd like to upgrade to a higher package level, please contact us.

The Links List module is used to display lists of hyperlinks with many different look-and-feel layouts.

Hyperlinks can be linked to pages on your website, pages on other websites, or documents. When you add a Links List module to your own pages, the style will be set based on the area of the screen you place it.

Use Cases

The following panels show specific tasks. Click on a panel to see the procedures.

Setup a Basic Links List

Setup a Links List module, or add one to your own page.

Setup a Links List module, or add one to your own page.

To edit a module, follow these steps:

  • Click the settings below the module and override the default settings (see here) or add a module to your own pages, using the Page Designer
  • Select a Style. Try different styles to see which looks the best for your scenario.
  • The Container Style can complement the initial Style field, so try them
  • Set the Animation Fields as required
  • Set the Links list:
    • The Title field should hold a suitable display name for your link
    • The Hyperlink field can hold the URL or a page on your website, a page on another website, or a document link.
When linking to pages/documents on your website, it's good practice to use the Virtual Path (starting with ~/) to ensure links still work should you change your domain name.
When the website visitor clicks the hyperlink, it will open the web page/document.
    • The Image URL fields may be the Full Page or Virtual Path of an image, shown in the 'Header Details' tab of an image in the Admin/File Manager
    • Some of the Styles may display the Description. Set it to show the description in that case.
    • The display of an image can be limited to the sections you have. This is set in the Section Type field.

Links may be moved up or down the list using the Up and Down buttons.

To remove an link, simply remove the Hyperlink.
