Our qualified instructors are able to provide Crate Stacking on our purpose built structure.
The activity allows either 3 teams (Beavers / Cubs / Scouts) or 2 teams (Explorers / Adults – max weight 100kg/per person) to compete against each other to see who can build the highest tower in the agreed time (time varies based on numbers), or individual personal challenges.
We have a range of helmets and harnesses which make this activity suitable for all from the age of 6.
For Beavers and Cubs, the lines and all the equipment are operated by the instructors and adult helpers.
For Scouts and Explorers they will belay and pass up crates etc themselves. Teaching them to rely on each other and to work as a team.
For Beavers and Cubs we need 3 adult helpers to help pass up the crates. No previous experience required, just enthusiasm.
A warranted Leader from your group, with a First Aid qualification, must be present at all Activity sessions to be responsible for the pastoral care of participants.
It is important for leaders to organise a Background Activity to occupy those waiting to have a go. This is not something that the Pinsent Activity Team provide.
Pinsent Crate Stacking Record Smashed
On 4th June 2019, Freya Pounds from 7th Winchester Beavers, smashed the site crate stack record with 28 crates, the previous record standing for the past three years. In truth she might have achieved even more as the stack didn’t collapse – she ran out of time! A fantastic achievement.

There are up to 3 evening session times per weekday. Starting with 1 at the beginning of April, increasing as the evenings get lighter.

Booking 2 activities for the same time slot.
You will need to book one of the sessions via OSM and then send an email to the Pinsent Activities Team with details of the other session. Unfortunatly the system will not allow you to book 2 activities with the same time slot.
