Our aim is to ensure that every young person, girl or boy in our area, who wants a place in Beavers, Cubs and Scouts should have one.
We grow our new Group year by year, adding successive cohorts of 6-year old Beavers. We do this term by term, at the beginning of each term adding 8 new 6-year olds. The key factor for our success is on-going parental involvement. Every parent needs to be willing to help support the Beaver Colony, the Cub Pack, and the Group infrastructure that makes things happen.
The Group Executive is the non-uniform side of Scouting to look after governance and the general administration of the Group as Charity Trustees. We need parents and their friends to volunteer for these light roles as well as for parent leaders. Could this be you?
If we had an additional 6 parents as leaders and section assistants (dividing into two teams of 3 to attend alternate weeks) we could offer many more places to 6 to 8-year old girls and boys wanting to become Beaver Scouts and Cub Scouts. You might be a former Scout or Guide or have some adventurous activity background. We also need occasional Group Skills Instructors for activities like Archery, Shooting and Single Pitch Top Rope (for crate-stacking and climbing walls).
